Car seats! With Johnny we were given his infant carrier as a gift for my shower. I picked out the design and was thrilled to get it. Once he needed to be moved to a convertible seat, I looked at safety ratings but not much else. We ended up having to buy a new seat when he was older because he outgrew the first convertible seat too quickly. Not fun, but I knew what I wanted because of reviews from friends, Amazon, and other places.
Now, with Joley outgrowing her infant seat, we have embarked on the not-so-fun journey of car seat shopping. I have been reading reviews, spending time online trying to find pros and cons of each kind, and asking around Twitter for thoughts. I have been checking safety ratings and size limitations on the seats to make sure we don’t have to buy a new seat in a few years the way we did with Johnny. I wish I could afford to buy a Britax seat, but we can’t. So, price is another factor we were looking into.
Finally, we went to Babies ‘R Us to see the seats I had finally decided upon. They only had one there so we put Joley in it to see how she fit. She was so excited to be sitting in a big car seat. It was absolutely adorable!
So, the car seat shopping is over. I have to say, I am glad. I didn’t even realize how many there were to choose from and how many opinions everyone has about them! All I know is that my little baby girl is growing up and I can’t carry her in the infant carrier anymore so a new car seat is a must!
