Top 5 New Year’s resolutions for getting healthy and fit in 2010

As you know, I made resolutions this year to change my life.  I am making changes for myself and my family.  I have chronicled my weight loss and workouts and you can find those under the category called weight loss journey.  I see this as a journey.  It is going to take me quite a while to get to where I want to be and a lifetime of changes to keep it up.

When I logged on to TwitterMoms today, I saw a post asking this question:

What are your top 5 New Year’s resolutions for getting healthy and fit in 2010?

Here are my answers:

1.  I want to learn how to make healthier food choices.  I want to eat healthier and in more appropriate portions than I have in the past.

2.  I want to work out at least 4 out of 7 days a week.  I am not putting a large requirement on this.  I am going to be happy with 10 minutes as long as it gets my heart pumping and my body moving.

3.  I want to walk outside around our neighborhood (weather permitting).  We have a great neighborhood and I enjoy walking around here.  If I push the baby in the stroller, all the better!

4.  I want to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.  I generally can do this but I need to remember how important it is to do.  Along with this, I want to drink less soda.  (I have been doing great with this one!)

5.  I want to be able to buy clothes that are more stylish and cute.  I would love to be able to find things that I really like versus things that I am limited to because of the size.  With each pound or inch I lose, that is becoming more a reality!

I need to change and I want to change.  I want to be proud of myself and I want my family to be proud of me.

I will succeed!
