Babywearing is an amazing experience. From the time Johnny was a baby, I have been wearing my kids. Since that time, I have tried several different carriers and wraps. I have found that there are many choices available to someone but you don’t hear often about ones that aren’t very costly. You can find good methods to wear your baby for an affordable price and Sleepy Wrap is one of them!
We were sent a Sleepy Wrap to try with Joley. Many people think that wraps are better for infants and newborns. The Sleepy Wrap works great for my baby girl, who is currently 15 months old. Please don’t think that you can’t use a wrap if you have an older baby. You can continue using the Sleepy Wrap as long as you are comfortable doing so. The Sleepy Wrap is made of a heavier cotton knit with a small amount of spandex. You will not have a problem with your Sleepy Wrap stretching out like some other carriers. The fabric bounces back and allows you to carry your baby nice and high.
I used to be a lover of slings and found the Sleepy Wrap to be much more comfortable. The wideness of the shoulder “straps” of the wrap make it so you feel more secure and not like you are lopsided. I also enjoy that the wrap is suitable for any body type. I am plus-size and can wear it with no problem. If someone much smaller than me wanted to use the same Sleepy Wrap, they would have no difficulty doing so because a wrap is designed to be tied in different ways to accommodate different body types.
The Sleepy Wrap is very easy to care for as well. You can carry it in its small packaging and then just wash and tumble dry when needed. Joley is comfortable in the wrap because she doesn’t have the clips that are found on some of my other carriers pushing against her. All she feels is the soft fabric. She can move around a bit and not create a problem because there is just enough give in the Sleepy Wrap that it doesn’t need to be adjusted.
I think that Sleepy Wraps are very affordable; only $39.95 for the classic (13 colors available) and $59.95 for the organic (available in khaki and natural). If you are wondering about the classic fabric, I can tell you that it is very soft and I am very pleased with it. If you are wondering if it is worth the price to pay for a Sleepy Wrap, I can tell you that it is. Like I said, you can wear your child as long as you are comfortable doing so. But, think about it this way as well… your child will likely be able to walk before they outgrow their Sleepy Wrap! If you haven’t worn your baby before, you will find directions when you receive your Sleepy Wrap so there is no guessing on how to use it. It is very easy to get used to wearing your child in a wrap.
I have always enjoyed putting Joley in a carrier rather than dealing with the big carseat carrier. She always preferred it as well. Joley would often sleep when being worn and could have nursed in it as well if I had wanted to. I often wore Joley around my house when she was a newborn because she was happier that way. With an active toddler, I found it better to wear her during the day rather than worry about her sleeping somewhere and being woke up by her brother. If she were sleeping on me, she often slept better and longer.
I would recommend a Sleepy Wrap to anyone looking for an inexpensive way to babywear. I think this would be great shower gift as well for any new mom wanting to try babywearing. (I would be happy to talk to anyone about babywearing if you have any questions.)
