I remember it clearly. I was sitting on my sofa playing around on the computer and I kept seeing tweet after tweet about BlogHer. So many of my favorite blogs (bloggers) were in Chicago at the BlogHer conference and I was sitting at home. I was jealous of all the fun they were having. I wanted to meet other bloggers and have fun too! I know, call the whaambulance!
Well, this year, it will be different! It all started simply enough. I made a tweet late last night asking if anyone wanted to help me host a party for the bloggers not going to BlogHer this year. And, as they say, the rest is history!
I am happy to let you all know that I, along with Maya (from Musings of a Marfan Mom) will be hosting a party for all those not attending BlogHer! This isn’t going to be just a meet and greet though. I know you all want some swag and I am going to provide. I have been in contact with several companies and there are going to be some great prizes given away with this party!
What is our plan? We are going to post some questions that all bloggers need to answer on their own blog (like a get-to-know-you kind of post). We are also going to have a button made (I still need to get that done… anyone want to help out there?). If you put the button on your sidebar during the course of the party, Wednesday through Sunday) and link up your required post, you will be eligible to win a prize. Of course, the idea is to hop around and get to know some new blogs, leave comments, and just have a good time. Easy peasy, right?
More details will follow later this week but I wanted to give you a bit of a heads up on this. If you aren’t going to BlogHer this year, don’t worry! We are going to have a blast… right on our couches! Be sure to spread the word on your own blogs, Facebook, or Twitter (use hashtag #NoGoBlogHer). The more bloggers that join in, the more fun this will be! I can’t wait to get to know you all better!

This is a GREAT idea! I’v enever been there, and “going to BlogHer” is on my Bucket List, but just not in the cards for me this year. I love the idea of your party tho
