Cotton Candy, Funnel cakes, and Sno Cones… oh my!

After we ate dinner last night, we headed to Costco to try to pick up a Xbox 360 game that Mike has been wanting. Costco was closed (boo) so we headed home but chose a more scenic route. Okay, not scenic necessarily, but different than the highway. On the way home, we saw some places I hadn’t seen before. One is so awesome that I wanted to tell you about it.

I love carnival food. One of the things I had to have before the end of the parish picnic was a funnel cake.  Anytime, anywhere… if I can get a funnel cake, I am going to get one!  It isn’t just funnel cakes though.  I also love sno cones and cotton candy… both of which I had at the parish picnic.  These are things that you just don’t see everyday so I took advantage of the time.  I knew that my chance of having a good ol’ funnel cake was going to be few and far between.  Can you blame me for gobbling one up?  As a matter of fact, it was me and six other people eating them at once.  Yummy!  I was disappointed when they closed the funnel cake stand early because I knew I wasn’t going to have another for months.

Ummm, wrong!  While we were driving, I looked over and saw a big sign that said “Carnival Food”.   Wha??  Double take that!  Yep, I read right.  There is a restaurant that serves carnival food!  It is called Mr. Harry’s Carnival Foods and has become a must-see place for me.  You can get all kinds of carnival food at this magical (okay, that may be a bit much) place.  What a fantastic place!  I bet I could gain weight just walking in there… but it would be soooo worth it.

I can’t wait to sink my teeth into a fresh funnel cake… and maybe a chili cheese hotdog.  Oh yeah… this is going to be good!  Maybe I should ask for that for my birthday dinner next week?
