Welcome to the new additions to the Thode household! The fish are for baby Joley (Johnny has his tank in his room) and the hermit crabs are Kenzie’s. I surprised her with the crabs last weekend and she seems to really enjoy them and taking care of them.
Joley loves elephants so she chose to have them in her tank. She walks by the fish several times a day (they are in my kitchen) and nearly every time she tells them “hi fishies”. So cute!
You can see both crabs in the first picture. There is one that looks like a hat (in the tree) and one that looks like a frog. We love our animals… all of them!

I used to have hermit crabs…just watch your hands…they tend to pinch you when you bathe them!! LOL!

Love the hermit crabs…so colorful! We had fish but they went back ‘to their homes with their mommies’ (they died and got flushed)

That is a pretty snazzy tank there! I need to get mine all cleaned out. I haven’t set it up since we moved – no time! I promised my toddler I would get him some simple fish to start out. I am sure he will hold me to it!

Good luck! We are horrible pet owners except for when it comes to fish. For some reason we are blessed with owning two immortal fish that have been alive for 4 years! Any day will be there last I’m sure:(

Cool hermit crabs! We had hermit crabs growing up, but they just had plain old brown shells. I have never seen them like that before.

I haven’t had a fish tank in quite some time. My children would probably love it. They want a puppy, but I can’t afford taking care of it or have the time for it. I may consider getting the children each a Beta fish or something and see how they do with that. Great tank you have there and I was really confused about the hat and the frog until I read someone’s comment. I didn’t know you could do that either.
