Rubbermaid Glass with Easy Find Lids Review and Giveaway

by Stefany on July 27, 2011

Rubbermaid LogoThere are many, many times when we have to save leftovers to use at a later time.  In fact, I love when I can save some food for later in the week or to use in another recipe.  Rubbermaid always makes that easy for me with their fantastic selection of food storage containers.  But, it just got better!

Rubbermaid has come out with a new food storage container that beats all others!  You can now find and purchase Rubbermaid Glass with Easy Find Lids!!!  Rubbermaid Glass containers have lids and bases that neatly nest for compact storage.  The lids snap to bases and other lids to make finding the right lid a breeze. Glass bases are designed to stack neatly, which saves space and prevents them from getting stuck together.  Since they are glass, they are ideal for reheating foods in the microwave and the glass bases are oven safe up to 425°F.

Did you read that?  You can put the glass base in the oven!  No longer do you have to use several containers or dishes to reheat foods.  You can simply pull the glass storage container out of the fridge, remove the lid, and pop it into the oven.  If you are worried about tight seals, Rubbermaid goes one step further there too with the built-in gasket that creates a leak-proof seal.

A few other things that I love about the Rubbermaid Glass food storage containers.  Glass is easy to clean and unlike some plastic containers, it does not stain.  In addition, the glass food storage containers do not harbor a smell the way some plastic containers do.  Overall, I love them.  In all honesty though, having glass containers in my home really worried me.  Our food storage containers are stored in a lower cabinet that is accessible to the kids and I didn’t want them getting their hands on the glass containers and a disaster occurring.  I decided to give these awesome food storage containers to my mom who has really, really enjoyed them and has given me even more great feedback about the Rubbermaid Glass.

Rubbermaid has kindly offered to send one of you the same set of Rubbermaid Glass that I received!  You will receive a great 8 piece set (suggested retail price $25) of your very own!

Here is how to enter:

  • For your first required comment, tell me what your favorite feature of the Rubbermaid Glass food storage containers is (or what are you looking forward to most with glass food storage).

My favorite feature is, without a doubt, the versatility! I have generic plastic food storage because that’s what I can afford. I’m not even sure if they are microwave safe. Even if they are, it is not healthy to microwave your food in plastic. Honestly, it’s not healthy for your food to TOUCH plastic. I’d love to be able to replace my plastic food storage, but I’m going to have to win some giveaways to be able to do it!

With glass storage containers, I am most looking forward to them not staining. Everything, it seems, stains plastic, especially anything that is tomato based.

Thanks for the great giveaway. ~Pauline

I have a few glass storage dishes and I love them. No worries about harmful chemicals when you reheat with them in the microwave or toaster oven. No worries about staining or scratches. Very easy to clean. I will never go back to plastic!
