SwaddleDuo by SwaddleDesigns Review and Giveaway

One thing I always worry about with a baby is the temperature setting in their room and our house.  We have a two-story house and it can be difficult to keep the temperature controlled.  Swaddling is the answer to my problems.  Recently, we were sent the SwaddleDuo by SwaddleDesigns to review.  My first thoughts when the SwaddleDuo arrived is that they are larger than most other swaddle blankets I have seen.  My second thought is that the swaddle directions sewn right into the edge of the blanket are perfect for a new parent or new swaddler.

SwaddleDesigns SwaddleDuo

The SwaddleDuo consists of two blankets.  One is the Ultimate Receiving Blanket; a lightweight premium cotton flannel blanket – for moderate to cooler environmental temperatures.  The other is the Marquisette Swaddling Blanket; a very lightweight openweave cotton blanket – for warmer environmental temperatures.  I can see that we will easily be using both blankets in our house this fall and winter.  The heavier Ultimate Receiving Blanket will be perfect for our lower level while the lighter weight Marquisette Swaddling Blanket will ge great for upstairs.

I want to draw your attention to “The SwaddleDesigns Goldilocks Guide™ ~ baby should not be too hot, or too cold, but just right ~ comfortably warm.”   The Goldilock’s Guide helps new parents remember the importance of keeping baby comfortably warm.

SwaddleDesigns strives to help new parents care for their baby by providing accurate and up-to-date information, so parents may make informed choices. SwaddleDesigns Safe Sleep Program includes recommendations from the AAP and the NIH as the company strives to increase awareness of Safe Sleep practices and help parents reduce risk of SIDS.

According to leading SIDS researchers, both overheating AND overchilling are risk factors for SIDS. In addition, it’s important for parents to understand that when baby is too cool during sleep, baby will use valuable energy to stay warm instead of growing and thriving. Over the past few years some juvenile product companies have over focused on overheating as a SIDS risk factor, and there has been a lack of balanced conversation regarding insufficient thermal insulation – the danger of baby being too cool – as a risk factor for SIDS. It is time for a balanced information where parents are educated and reminded of their important responsibility to make sure baby is not too hot or too cold, but comfortably warm.

If you aren’t aware of how to swaddle yet or need to learn more about the benefits of swaddling, be sure to check out the SwaddleDesigns How To Swaddle page.  The SwaddleDuo is an amazing set of blankets that washes up beautifully time and time again.  I haven’t been able to use them on my baby girl yet but I have washed them to test their durability and they remain perfect after each wash.  They are available in 17 different styles and retail for $38!

I love our SwaddleDesigns SwaddleDuo and recommend them to anyone looking for a cute, useful, and long-lasting gift for a new mom or dad.  I am sure they will enjoy it!

Be sure to join the SwaddleDesigns email club for exclusive details on special offers.

SwaddleDesigns has very kindly offered to give one of you a SwaddleDuo of your own!  One winner will receive their choice of Pink or Blue SwaddleDuo  in the Classic Peace Love Swaddle style.
