Holiday Tips and Recipes from Midwest Dairy {giveaway}

The holidays are the best time of year to get together with family and friends and enjoy each others’ company.  Food unites people, don’t you think?  I know that my family always see each other, but the holidays is when we all get together regardless of what is going on with our lives.  There is no too busy during the holidays.  Midwest Dairy wants to give you some ideas to maximize your family time this holiday season.  Here are just a few that caught my eye…

 “We use holiday mealtime to have real conversations as a family. No cell phones are allowed! Sit down at the table (not in front of the TV), share a tasty meal and talk about your day or the things you are most thankful for.” — Susan Anglin, Anglin Dair.

“To squeeze in extra family bonding during busy days, I encourage my kids to get in the kitchen and help out. Don’t worry about making a mess; it’s creating traditions and memories that are most important.” — Shannon Squibb, Topwinds Dairy

These are a few tips to make entertaining easy this holiday season:

“Cheese trays make a tasty and nutritious appetizer. To add seasonal flair, buy cheese in block form and use holiday cookie cutters to create festive shapes; save the scraps for casseroles.” — Barb Liebenstein, Wolf Creek Dairy

“My holiday guests always seem to be craving something pumpkin flavored. I have a few go-to recipes that are fresh and unexpected:Pumpkin Cheesecake ShakePumpkin Pancakes, and my personal favorite, Pumpkin Pie Squares.” — Susan Anglin, Anglin Dairy

There are a number of recipes to check out on the Midwest Dairy site and I encourage you to do that when planning your holiday meal or a dish to bring to a party.

Midwest Dairy would like to give you a special gift to make your holiday meals more enjoyable… to see and make!  I received this same Crate and Barrel baking dish (a $30 value) and I fell in love.  I love the beautiful edges.  I think any food will be prettier just by being in this dish.  You have the chance to win a Crate and Barrel baking dish, oven mitt, and recipe from Midwest Dairy!

I’ve perfected a splendid Spinach & Feta Pie, which is essentially just like Spanikopita, only instead of puff pastry, It’s made with pie crust like a pot pie. DELICIOUS!
