If by jingle in my pocket you mean Christmas joy, I try to donate extra money off my groceries when I can as well as clothes, toys, etc.

I use coupons to save money and I sell things that we no longer use or need. Doing that puts extra money away for other things such as gifts and I also donate some money every year as well.

I shop carefully then when I do buy an item, I watch to see if it goes on sale for less in the following weeks. If it does, most stores will refund the difference with a receipt.

Something that has been surprisingly successful for me is selling things I no longer use or never used on eBay and craiglist. I prefer eBay because the buyers are serious, as opposed to numerous no shows from Craigslist.
