Christmas is such a fun time for everyone. Kids are excited, parents are thrilled to see their hard work pay off. But what about the pets? I have a few ideas for you that will help you include your dog in the holiday festivities this year!
Dog Treat Countdown
The first idea is one that my kids are excited about. We always do a countdown in December; counting down to Christmas day. You can make a similar project for your pup! All you need to do is purchase Purina Beneful Healthy Smile Dental Dog Snacks. They have a variety with 24 treats inside the bag and that is what you need to make a countdown of sorts for your pup!
Take sheets of tissue paper and cut them into squares. Cut some curling ribbon into strips for tying. Then head to Walmart to purchase your treats. Open them up and roll them in each piece of tissue paper. Tie them on each end to create individual “presents”. Place them in a jar and pull one out each day of the month. Your pup will get a healthy treat and you will be able to include them in the fun counting down the days until Christmas!
Dog Treat Ornament
The next thing you can do is to make an ornament with dog treats! We bought these clear plastic ornaments when we were shopping at Walmart for Purina Alpo Variety Snaps Little Bites. They are the perfect treat for this activity. Simply break them in half and they fit inside the top hole of the ornament.
Once full, you can add your dog’s name and the year to your ornament. You will want to hang this high on the tree to avoid it being eaten! This is a fun way to have your dog part of your holiday decorating.
Christmas Day Present
Finally, your pup should be included on the big day; Christmas! You can purchase them their very own present. We bought Purina Busy Bones for our dogs. Not only do they love these treats, but they will be perfect for Christmas morning when the kids are opening their presents. The dogs will enjoy their treat and stay busy and out of the way of all the present-unwrapping chaos!
You will want to head to Walmart for Black Friday or shop online on Cyber Monday for these dog treats. Now is the time to get ready for the holidays and there is no better way to show your pet love than to include them in all the festivities. Feel good with what you give your pet and make their holidays extra special!
