Today was an eventful and exciting day here in our house. Both Johnny and I broke out of our shells and entered into a new adventure.
Today, while I went to mass, Johnny went to Sunday school. I have been talking about it for months and getting his psyched up to go. He was ready. He wanted a back pack so he could be like the older kids so I bought him a Cars one. He looked so big today. Where did my baby boy go? He did really well. He didn’t cry (and neither did I) when I left. He apparently was a bit clingy (according to the teacher) but she said he did well. He was red-faced when I got there after mass which means he was playing outside so that made me happy. He was happy to see me and was just looking around the room when I got back. I have never been so happy to see my boy. He has some “homework” (as he says) of coloring pages that he brought home. He is excited for next week and so am I. I love that he is getting so big… bittersweet, but wonderful.
Tonight, I went to my first M.O.M.S. group. There are 12 women in the group with children ranging in age from 8 weeks to 18 years. They all seem very nice. I look forward to many more weeks of getting together with them. We have 8 weeks of meetings, 1 week where we get together and just hang out at someone’s house and then a final week where we celebrate. I got a journal to work on and some reflecting each week to do. I felt good leaving tonight. Just being around other women with similar beliefs was wonderful. I will let you know more about that as time goes on.
I am normally resistant to change but today was a day of firsts and I am embracing them. I love it!
