My husband and I will be married 17 years this September. Time flies! Over the years he has bought me many different gifts and I have been pleased with them all (well, not all I guess, but he tried). This year is just another year but we are coming up on 20 years together this year and that is something to celebrate I think. I am not sure he will get me anything for this milestone or will wait until our anniversary but I have some ideas of things I would like to receive and other women may enjoy too.
One thing I have always wanted is a diamond necklace. I enjoy wearing my cross daily but would really like to have a necklace that I can wear for special occasions. It wouldn’t have to be a huge diamond, and not super expensive, but a diamond necklace would be a wonderful gift.
Another wonderful gift would be a family ring. One that has our marriage birthstone as well as the kids’ birthstones would be very special. I did have a necklace like this but it broke and I would like something to replace that.
Always the practical one, I would really like a new computer for our anniversary. I have had the same one for 8 years and it is running very slow. I think a gift that I could use every day would be a nice way to show he loves me. A Macbook would be ideal.
My husband often makes dinner but a specially prepared meal is always a nice gift. Hello Fresh delivers you food that you can prepare and it would be a wonderful way to celebrate our dinner.
Finally, I work on my feet a lot and a good pair of shoes is necessary for me. I find myself buying several pairs a year and many times buy secondhand. What I would love is a new pair of shoes that are good for my feet. I have heard many nurses love Asics tennis shoes so I would appreciate those as a gift too!
No matter what my husband decides to do for our anniversary, I know that it will be wonderful because it is a celebration of our time together. Twenty years together and 17 years married. That is an accomplishment and one that I am very proud of!
What kind of gifts do you like to give and receive?
