Years ago, internet security was a uncommon term.  What did we need to secure?  Today, you hear the term often.  Everyone protects their computer with some type of software.  I had a trial on my netbook but was looking for a full software program to protect what I do on my computer.  I was recently given a copy of AVG Internet Security 9.0 for review and I am very pleased.

Internet Security 9.0 protects you while you surf, shop, bank, and download.  You don’t have to worry about spam, viruses, or identity theft.  I have had a computer that was basically wiped out because of a virus, so virus protection is a huge selling point for me.  But, with the constant spam threats and the newer identity theft scares, those features make AVG Internet Security 9.0 a great buy.

AVG has been around for 19 years and have more than 110 million users.  With free technical support and free upgrades throughout the time of your subscription, you are guaranteed to have the most up-to-date software at all times.  With AVG Internet Security 9.0, you get many great features including:

  • Anti-virus and anti-spyware – safe computer
Our Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware technology protects you from falling victim to or unwittingly spreading a virus, worm, or Trojan horse. It also prevents the unauthorized access of information from both spyware and adware.
  • Anti-spam – safe, uncluttered e-mail
Our AVG Anti-Spam feature adopts a regularly updated database for detecting all forms of spam.
  • Enhanced firewall – block hackers
Our Enhanced Firewall ensures you against unwanted visitors trying to access your computer.
  • Online Shield – safe social networking, chatting and downloading
Online Shield allows you to download and exchange files without risk of virus infection, including files downloaded using ICQ, MSN and Yahoo! instant messengers.
  • Identity protection – up-to-the-minute banking and shopping protection
  • AVG Identity Protection enhances your current anti-virus software by shielding your passwords, credit card numbers, and all other private information from prying eyes.

Since installing the AVG Internet Security 9.0 on my netbook, I have had no problems. The installation was very easy and there were clear steps to follow.  My computer is running fast but is still catching some issues before they become real problems.  LinkScanner® is checking web pages when it is most important – right before I click on them.  Knowing I am protected before I even get to the page is a huge relief to me.

You can pick up a free trial download of AVG Internet Security and give it a try yourself.  You can also purchase AVG Internet Security for 1, 2, 3, 5 or 10 computers.  Whether you have a single computer for the entire family or a whole slew of them, you can get a subscription to keep yourself safe while being online.

Disclosure: I received the software mentioned from AVG through Parent Reviewers. No other compensation was received. All thoughts and opinions are my own and others’ may vary.
