After 38 weeks and 2 days, baby Jemma made her appearance on Monday, 10/10/11. I will update you all with a full birth story later (I am exhausted right now) but the lowdown is that my blood pressure started rising. My doc felt it safer to get baby out than to send me back home. So, I had a repeat cesarean as we had planned, although that is about it when it comes to being “in the plans”. My surgery was much more intense than just a cesarean.
Jemma is perfect. Her birth stats are:
Date of birth: October 10, 2011
Time of birth: 8:54pm
Birth Weight: 7lbs, 8oz
Birth Length: 18 3/4 inches
I, of course, have many other pics to share but here are a few for right now.
Big brother and big sister love her already.
Jemma had some glucose problems after birth and needed to get one feeding of formula. It only took one feeding though and she has been fine since. Breastfeeding is going well too.
I am so tired so off to bed I go. There will be more updates to follow!
