Synopsis
Jewel has always been able to get the guy she wanted. The starting jock on the football team, the team captain on the basketball team, and the lead swimmer on the swim team. Problem is, she didn’t find them the least bit exciting. Was she cold or a she-wolf for guys? Colin thought so, and he’d do anything to bring her down a peg or two. When these two collide on the sandy beach during their mixed up summer vacation, sparks fly, making this a summer neither will forget.

My thoughts
I sat down last night and read this book yesterday. It is a very quick read but don’t let that fool you. There is a lot going on in a very short time. You have Jewel as your main lead. Screwed over one too many times but a boyfriend that turns aggressive, she put up walls around herself. Where people see her as cold and heartless in her breakups, she is in fact, trying to protect herself. She dates several boys at her school but none really seem to like her for anything other than what she can do for them. When she goes to the beach for the summer, she has no idea that her walls will crumble around her at the hands of Colin.
I loved Colin so much. He really is a super sweet guy from the very first time we see him. He “knows” Jewel from school and has an image of her based on a reputation that is completely false. He doesn’t know how to feel about her… and feels more than he really thought he would. I loved their relationship from the very beginning. I loved that they were friends and took a chance on each other. I loved that two broken people came together and made each other happy.
This is truly a young adult romance, and like I said, a quick read. I gave it 4 stars on Goodreads and would definitely recommend it for a fun read that you can get into without having to spend a lot of time!
