I am ready for summer. I am ready for the warm weather, bright skies, longer days, and just plain being out of winter. This winter has not been good to us, as you know, and I am ready to put it behind us and move on. I used to love winter months but that has changed. I now crave the months of less sickness and more play. Being stuck inside for the past few weeks has me a bit stir crazy, to be honest.
So, what do I do with my mind that only wants warm weather? I think about all that I will do once it finally arrives. I am not crazy… I don’t share all my thoughts with my kids. Do you have any idea what would happen if I did that?
“Mom, when are we going swimming?”
“Mom, when is school out?”
“Mom, when is vacation bible school?”
“Moooooom…..”
Very quickly I would end up in the bathroom hiding brushing my teeth. Um, yeah. Anyway, so this is what I am thinking. All my kids need new swim clothes this year. I, too, will need new swim clothes but I am losing weight (go ahead and clap, I’ll wait) and don’t want to purchase anything for myself yet. But, my kids have all recently gone through a growth spurt and I think it would be okay to start looking for them.
I did all my usual searches, all the local spots and then hit online. I checked out online stores like www.konfidence.co.uk and saw all that is available this year. I must say that the selection is great. My girls will be the most fun to buy for again. Now, we did get rid of our pool a few years ago but we do still go swimming so I think I will get some pool toys this year too. I am going to sit down with the kids… scratch that… I am going to make some decisions and start planning our summer months now.
I plan on doing it right… because, darn it, we deserve it!
