This post is part of the HEALTHY ESSENTIALS® 2014 program by Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies, Inc. and The Motherhood, who sent me a box of products and compensated me for my time. Opinions, experiences and photos shared here are all my own, and I hope you enjoy them.
My kids have been back in school for a few weeks and things are starting to settle down around my house. Every day it is just Jemma and I playing and spending some one-on-one time together (plus all the other stuff I have to do, of course). I have to say, it is really nice. That said, I need to get back into my own routines and take care of myself! It is so hard when your focus changes to your kids but it needs to be done.
With the start of the school year comes many changes for moms everywhere. Whether you home school or send your kids off to school, you have to adjust. You may be getting up earlier, staying up later, cooking more (or less), eating less, or you may be forgetting about taking care of yourself. I have a few simple things you can do though to keep your skin and body healthy that takes just minutes. Anyone can spare that!
Wash your face when you wake up
Start each morning with a good face washing. This will help wake you up and get your skin ready for the day. The Aveeno Positively Radiant Skin Brightening Daily Scrub is perfect for this. I love how it makes my skin feel and is a perfect way to start my day, every day!
Fight those wrinkles we all seem to get
Kids do it to us… they stress us out. That, and the fact that we are all aging, it may be time to start thinking about how to fight wrinkles. With Roc Anti-Aging Night Cream, you can see a noticeable difference in the appearance of wrinkles in just 12 weeks. I have been using it for just a few weeks myself, but I like how it feels on my face and neck and do feel my skin is tighter. If you don’t have wrinkles yet, well good for you, but keep this in mind because it will happen eventually (and if it doesn’t, just lie to me would you??).
Treat the occasional breakout
Breakouts are the worst! Not only do they make your face appear different (yuck!) but they also are trouble on your mood. Treat those occasion breakouts quickly! Kids being back in school may be stressful (hence the breakouts) but that doesn’t mean that stress needs to keep you down. Using Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash daily plus Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment means that those pesky pimples are gone in no time and you can back to having a beautiful and flawless face!
Moisturize! Moisturize! Moisturize!
Moisturizing goes well beyond the face. Your skin needs to be moisturized all over. Whether it be summer (like back to school time) or any other season (hello winter blues!), your skin is affected. I was standing outside on the parking lot picking up my kids a few days ago, looked down, and was totally embarrassed. My skin was scaly and dry. This was my clue that I needed to start using my Lubriderm Daily Moisture Lotion. I admit to being bad at remembering to moisturize, but it has become more of a habit now that I have started lathering up after my shower. This lotion is perfect for that and I like how it doesn’t feel greasy or heavy on the skin.
Whiten your teeth
Show off your “my kids are back in school” smile! If you have any old stains (mine are from soda) or just want to whiten up, Listerine Healthy White can help. I have been a fan of Listerine for years but this is my new favorite. Anything that will help keep my smile whiter is a huge plus for me. Plus, this kills bad breath so it is perfect for those kisses we all like to send our kids off to school with.

The beginning of the school year can be busy and stressful. It is important for moms to take care of themselves.

We tend to forget ourselves and focus so much on our kids that we forget that we need a bit of pampering too. Those are some great products and $40 in coupons is always welcomed.

I try and take a bit more time for my self but I still don’t get much time with a baby still at home . So that usually means just getting to actually shave my legs !!! LOL
