Headed to the hospital with Jemma

March 4 by Stefany 8 Comments

On Monday, we are headed back to the hospital.  This time though, we are only going for a visit.  Jemma has to get a chest xray to check for any signs of lingering pneumonia, pneumothorax, or any other issues.  After that, we head up to the Pulmonology clinic for a follow-up visit.  They will likely do some blood work and swabs for Staph while we are there too. I will be honest with you.  I am … [Read more...]

So, how is baby Jemma?

February 24 by Stefany 16 Comments

I know it has been a bit since I updated all the loyal friends that were and are praying for Jemma and I thought this is a good time to do so.   Jemma is amazing.  Jemma is truly a miracle. A month ago, she was on a ventilator.  A month ago, I prayed without ceasing for her to be well. Today, Jemma is playing and running around.  She is getting into toys and even things she isn't supposed … [Read more...]

Jemma could go home!  After 32 days, we were on our way out of the hospital!!!  We had a large amount of prep work to get through including her PICC line being removed, a few trips to the pharmacy, some convincing on my part that I could handle the wean schedule, and lots of bandage removals.  But, we were finally … [Read more...]

Jemma extubated

The past few days have truly been amazing.  I can say that I am truly surprised, as are most of those that have cared for Jemma, how well she has done since being moved to the conventional ventilator.  I mentioned in my last update that on Monday, the 21st of January, she was moved to the conventional ventilator.  She continued to do well and was weaned each day.  On Thursday, the 24th of January, … [Read more...]

My little fighter keeps on fighting #PrayersforJemma

January 23 by Stefany 33 Comments

Hanging out with my big kids.  It is so hard being away from them but they are doing great with my mom and dad.  I am so blessed to have them in my life to take care of my babies for us. Wow, it has been a whirlwind of activity and change the past few days.  I left off with weaning Jemma off the oscillator vent.  Well they decided to make the jump early (were planning by Wednesday) Monday morning … [Read more...]
