Did you know that the Chinese New Year began on the 23rd of January? It did and this year is the year of the Dragon! Prosperity, peace, happiness and longevity all symbolize the Chinese New Year, one of the most important and festive Chinese holidays.
The eve of Chinese New Year, January 22nd, is marked by the reunion of loved ones for a feast. Red Envelopes, filled with gifts, are presented to family and friends during the Chinese New Year. The color red symbolizes good luck. P.F. Chang’s would like to help YOU celebrate the Chinese New Year too!
I was sent some delicious treats to celebrate with my family and we sure did. We hung up some lanterns and ate some tasty P.F. Chang’s home menu meals. If you haven’t tried them yet, I strongly encourage you to do so. They are the easiest meals to make. You simply put them in a pan, turn the heat on, cover, stir occasionally, and then enjoy around 15 minutes later. Truly easy and truly good.
P.F. Chang’s also has a super fun Facebook contest going on right now! They want to ring in the Chinese New Year by sharing some good luck with you. In their “Celebrate the Year of the Dragon” promotion you have a chance to gain your own good fortune everyday, once a day until February 12th. Simply go to the P.F. Chang’s Facebook pageand click on the Year of the Dragon on the sidebar. Enter your email address, identifying information and click submit. You will have a chance to win one of ten daily dragon prizes. You will also be given a daily fortune. Here is mine for today:
YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT – BOLD AND SPICY LIKE PEPPER STEAK
Hmmm, what do you think that says about me? ha! Be sure to head over to enter everyday to try to win!
Disclosure: We were given a celebration kit in exchange for this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
