Flooding and pulling out hair

It is amazing to me the damage that Hurricane Ike has created here in the midwest. Just in my immediate area, roads are flooded and soccer fields and golf courses are under water. We even had to go a long distance to pick up the kids from their grandparents’ house today. Just over the bridge (about 30 mins) there were homes flooded, apartments underwater, streets flooded and cars destroyed and carried away. These are areas that may not have seen flooding in many, many years, if ever. It was just the amount of rain that came down at once which was all overnight. We have no damage and no flooding in our neighborhood, but there certainly are people not so lucky around us.

So, what about pulling out hair? Me. I am ready to start pulling out my hair. Johnny has been a complete handful lately and is so damn crabby that I am ready to run away from home… or hide in the bathroom which doesn’t work as well since he can get in now. I think his two year molars are what are the problem… and I am going to keep with that story because I refuse to believe that he is just going to be like this for longer than a few months. I can’t take it. He will have to go hide in the bathroom himself if he keeps it up much longer. Besides the whining and crying, he has just gotten so damn independent that he won’t let you (me) help him with anything and only wants what he wants… when he wants it. And damnit, that is NOW! I love my kid… I really do… but he is going to drive me insane! As I type, he is tormenting my poor 3 legged dog and laughing hysterically about it. He keeps throwing the ball and then racing the dog (who really isn’t very fast) to get the ball. My house is a circus. *sigh*

Well that is it for now. I have to get the monster in bed.
