We have 3 dogs and 2 cats in our busy household. That means a lot of hair all over my house. I have been searching for what-seems-like forever to find a brush or solution to stop the shedding of hair. It seemed like a lost cause until recently.
I was send a Medium FURminator deShedding Tool to review on our pets. I was cautiously optimistic that this could the answer to the extra dog that seemed to live under my kitchen table (aka hair shed from all the dogs). The claim is that it reduces shedding by 90%. Could it be?
We started using it right away. My dogs and cats absolutely loved it. They actually were willing to sit and get brushed for the first time ever. And, how did it work? Oh my gosh… I can’t even tell you how happy the FURminator deShedding Tool has made me. I was able to get a plastic grocery bag of hair from one dog alone. I am not kidding you. Plus, it is very easy to use. Once the hair is ready to be removed from the FURminator, you just press the button and it easily comes off. You can hold on to your pet with one hand if necessary and get the hair off with the other. If your pets are anything like mine though, that won’t be necessary. They will stay as long as you are willing to keep “brushing” them.
In addition to the FURminator deShedding Tool, we were also sent some Waterless deShedding Shampoo and Conditioner. When used with the deShedding Tool, you can get an even greater amount of hair removed. This is the perfect product to use between baths to keep your pet clean, the shedding to a minimum, and your pet smelling good!
We were also sent a bag of deShedding Treats for dogs. My dogs love these treats. Now, can I say that they are shedding less because of the treats or because of the deShedding Tool or both? No, not really. What I can tell you is that the dogs do shed less when we use the product(s). We see a significant decrease in the amount of hair on the floors when we regularly use the deShedding Tool… not to mention some beautiful coats on our dogs and cats.
I will admit that I was a bit put off by the price when we saw it in the store, but I can honestly tell you that this is 100% worth every penny you will pay for it. I would buy this in a heartbeat if we needed to again. You can find FURminator in local stores, online, or in catalogs.

Aren't they great? We had the original for the cats and loved it, and now we have the deLuxe FURminator for the cats – even better. I agree – they are worth their price because they really are a pet tool that actually does what it says it will.
