Halloween was good! Johnny was a trooper and he went up to doors with the big kids. He pooped out and came home with me and then watched tv. I will get some pics of him in his costume soon even though it is getting really late. I just have to get the card out. 🙂
I went and voted today. Mike and I got up early and got to the polls at 5:15a and were about 20th in line. Eight minutes later the line doubled. By 6a, when the polls opened, there were probably over 100-150 people in line! We were done voting by 6:15a and went and got breakfast. There were more people in line when we went past. I am glad we got it done early even though it is being said that the polls weren’t busy this afternoon. We will be watching the polls tonight, all night if need be. G’Obama!
Besides the Presidential election, there are a few local results that I am interested in. One will have an indirect effect on my future as a nurse. Unfortunately, it looks like that will pass. Regardless, Mike and I have had a good discussion about my future career and we have come to a decision. With the change in law of the roles Midwives can take in MO, I feel it is an awesome time to continue my education. Probably in August, I will restart school and get my BSN and then move forward to become a Certified Nurse Midwife! There are talks about birthing centers opening up here locally in the distant future and I would love to be part of that.
I had my 34w doc appt tonight. It went well, but I have to say that since the doctor’s office started this new check-in procedure, the appts are way behind. My appt was at 4:30p and I wasn’t seen until 5:30p! My bp was fantastic (128/68), pulse was 100 (actually low for recently), I gained one pound, and my urine was good. Joley’s hb was 140 and my fundal height was right on. My doc asked me again if I wanted to trial labor or go ahead and schedule a cesarean and I told him labor. He said that was fine and we both agreed that we hope Joley stays vertex. I know she is right now and I haven’t felt those big movements lately so hopefully she stays put. I am so glad he is open to me trying for my vbac. He did say that he thinks it will be “soon” and that I need to make it through Thanksgiving and jokingly asked if that was good with me. I told him no. LOL I told him that is too early and I would rather her wait a bit longer. We both laughed at the idea of a child of mine having any patience. 🙂 Ideally, I would love for her to make her grand appearance in my 39th week.
As an update to my need ideas post, I am going to be looking into the Sew Mama Sew Handmade Holidays this month and hopefully doing some sewing for Christmas. Thanks Alana Jo for that link!
Well, there was more I wanted to talk about but I can’t remember. If it was worth talking about, I will be back! For now, I am off to get kids in bed and watch the election results.
