Here in the midwest, grilling is a very normal part of summer. To be honest, grilling is part of every season here. But, especially in the summer, we all love to have some yummy beef grilled up. Being over 100 degrees here lately, there is a bigger reason to head out to the grill… keep the house cool! Turning on our stove makes for an even hotter house than normal.
Since I started experimenting with Holland House products, our BBQ food has become better and better. I tend to buy less-tender cuts of meat. I don’t do this because I like them more, but because our bank account does. But, buying less-tender cuts doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice flavor! Simply by using Holland House Cooking Wines, you can tenderize even those cuts you didn’t think of using before.
If you have a less-tender cut of beef and you aren’t sure what to do with it, I have a plan for you! Marinate that beef for 24 hours in Holland House Red Cooking Wine, drain and then cook. What will happen is that the Holland House Red Cooking Wine will tenderize and boost the flavor. Let me tell you, it is worth the prep time to marinate.
The Holland House Red Cooking Wine is perfect for pork, lamb and beef. Besides grilling, it is good to add in stews and soups to enhance the flavor. Be sure to check out the other varieties of cooking wine made by Holland House. You will find White Cooking Wine, Sherry Cooking Wine, Marsala Cooking Wine, Vermouth Cooking Wine, and White with Lemon Flavor Cooking Wine. There are also several varieties of vinegars to cook with. They are all great to use with meats and to add to special dishes during grilling season… whether that is summer OR all year!
