I haven’t talked about my savings lately so this is a quick catch-up. I still shop Walgreens every week. I sometimes go to Target if the sales are good enough. I have started looking at all the different grocery store ads and figuring out the best deals (with the help of BeCentsable, a group I belong to that also has a blog). They tell me the deals and I decide if it is enough to warrant a trip.
I am a bit of a freebie junkie to be honest. I get some type of freebie in the mail almost daily. In addition to the actual items, I also get coupons in the mail. I have found those coupons to be very valuable! I was able to stack coupons at Walgreens this week and get some very cheap toilet paper. With so many people in the house, we go through a lot so getting it cheap is a plus.
I am way ahead on savings vs. spending. I don’t have the figure figured out, but it averages that my savings are twice that (or more) of what I am spending. I am behind on clipping coupons and that is the only method that works well for me. There are 4 or 5 inserts in this weekend’s paper so I really need to start cutting and filing.
If you don’t coupon yet, you should try it. There are so many sites that tell you the deals. There is very little work involved anymore except cutting coupons. Some people don’t even do that until they get the sales ads. (Like I said, that doesn’t work well for me but some really do well with this method). I get such a rush when I can walk out of the store knowing how I put my coupons to work. It really is fun!
