I had a wonderful Christmas with my family. We went to my parent’s house for Christmas eve for our traditional feast of dips and a light meal. We came home and started wrapping presents and then Tayler and I went to midnight mass… the first time I have been to that mass in years and it was wonderful. When I got home, Mike had put the Step 2 Kitchen (I won it!!!) together and I put all the stickers on it. We got the house presentable and then went to bed. The kids actually slept until 10am so Mike and I were able to get a little rest despite being up until 4ish. We set up the camera to catch Santa and we actually did it this year! 😉
Johnny was so much fun this year when opening presents. He was so excited with each gift he opened. I am unsure what exactly it was, but he even started shaking one time! It was so cute. I love how overjoyed he was about the simplest things. Mackenzie and Tayler were happy with their gifts as well (I hope). We rested a bit and then went to my parent’s house for our traditional meal. Unfortunately, my nephew was ill on Christmas morning so my sister and her kids weren’t there but we still had a great time. My mom and dad made the best ham EVER! yum!
We came home and then kids headed to bed. I stayed up and de-Christmas’d the house. I needed the space that the tree was taking up for the new toys. I know that sounds so scroogish but I needed it all down. Overall, I was so blessed to be able to spend the holidays with my family. It was a fantastic holiday!
I was very blessed this year with gifts as well… and will write another post about that tomorrow.
How was your Christmas? What did you do?
