I know people say that teenagers are a headache, and while I do agree sometimes, I have to say that my step-daughter is awesome. We used to not get along so well… more in the tween years than after. She is now 14 (going on 21) and she is such a great kid.
I enjoy spending time with her, talking to her, sharing advice and friendship with her. Although I am her “mom” here, I feel very close to her and hope she feels the same… at least to some degree. I am so glad she has come back into our lives in such a big way.
So, although we have had a rough past, and certainly will have many more arguments and butting heads in the future, I feel blessed to have her here and as part of my life. I look forward to watching her grow into the wonderful woman she is sure to become. She is truly amazing.
