I couldn’t wait any longer. After checking the mail on Monday (one week from the start of classes) and finding there were no school books, I called the University. It has been over a month since I ordered them and the guy told me to watch the first week of August. (see me justifying my craziness?)
He called back yesterday and said that one of my books had just arrived that morning. So, they are on their way to me today via UPS. I should have them this week.
Ahhh. Can you hear my sigh of relief?
One more thing… I have mentioned how I joined a MOMS group at Church. Not that anyone asked, but I wanted to clarify anyways ’cause I am cool that way. The MOMS group stands for Ministry of Mothers Sharing. It isn’t a playgroup. Actually, the group I joined (Sunday evening) doesn’t even have childcare.
This group is for “women who devote their time to the spiritual and physical upbringing of their children, women who lead stressful – or full- lives, women who desire spiritual nurturing and growth as mothers, and women with children of all ages.”
Our meetings are for 2 hours once a week. We will cover things such as:
Self-esteem (what influences me at this time in my life?)
Stress, Worries and Anxiety (learning to deal with stress productively)
Everyday Spirituality
Feelings (constructive and self-expression)
Personal Growth
Expressing Values and Friendships
Continuing the Journey (how will I continue my growth?)
Celebration of New Beginnings (this is the last week and an evening of celebration)
This is a 9 week group but, from what I understand, often the group you start with continues to meet after the 9 weeks is over. This isn’t a group for my kids directly. It is for me. They asked on the application what you hope to gain or why you are wanting to be part of the group. My answer was this… I am joining to have some private “me” time with time to reflect and grow as a mother.
Wish me luck.
