Joley slept great last night! She woke at 12:30a and I fed her. I laid her back in her bed and she slept until 8ish. So, what’s the problem you say? I should be ecstatic she slept so good, you think? I am. Believe me, I am. I can’t believe she slept so long. If she continues to do that, my body may start to let me sleep more than 2 hours at a time.
The problem is that I worry. I worry about her being in her room. I was the same way with Johnny. I almost wish I had a Video Monitoring System so I could see her when she is in her room. Right now, I am downstairs while she is upstairs, presumably sleeping. I hate that she is away from me. I hate that I worry about these things.
Johnny worries me too. My daycare kiddo was being picked up today and Johnny ran to the door. Guess what he can do! He can unlock deadbolt doors now! Greeeaaat! I thought that was something he wouldn’t do for a bit. I was wrong. I have some Flip Locks but haven’t installed them yet. My mom uses those too and seem to be a good option. I do have them on my garage and back door but not front door yet. I need to get on that. I don’t like Johnny being able to get out on his own so easily. I was wondering though if a Chain Door Guard might work better. Any thoughts?
One more thing that is on my mind tonight is Joley and her crawling. The kid is everywhere. There is no stopping her. Today, I pulled her back from the fridge at least 5 times before she was finally preoccupied with something else. She is a determined little girl for sure. Anyways, we put safety locks on the cabinets 2 years ago at least. Since that time, over half of them have broken. Obviously, I don’t want to get the same kind. I was looking at a Tot-Lok Kit. Anyone have any experience with those? They seem to be easy, unless of course, Johnny takes the key. ha! Should I just get some of the Cabinet Latches?
Tell me I am not losing my mind. I think this is just a “my baby is growing up before my eyes and I am stressing out” worry. I do need to do more to make the house safer for Joley and Johnny though. Pretty soon, my little baby will be following my big baby out the front door if I am not careful!
