I entered a contest on one of my favorite sites recently. Impress Your Kids, a site I talked about here gives ideas to help incorporate faith into the daily lives of your kids. I really enjoy the site and make a point to visit them daily.
They ran a giveaway on the blog and on Facebook. I read the review for The Jesus Storybook Bible by Sally Lloyd Jones on the blog and knew right away that I wanted this book. I entered and won!
I got the book on Saturday and immediately opened it up to take a look. It is beautiful. The book is colorful and the stories are written in a way that makes them interesting while still saying what the true meaning of the story is. I found that the other storybook bible we own is basically a very, very abbreviated version of the Biblical story it is supposed to portray. I really want Johnny to understand what the Bible stories are about… not Noah playing with animals on a boat. Follow me here?
The Jesus Storybook Bible does not make light of the stories. It is beautifully written and the pages are bright and vibrant. My older kids (who aren’t religious, not by my choice) were even interested in reading the book and immediately took it away to read it to Johnny.
I love this book. It is something I would recommend to anyone. As a matter of fact, I already did… to my sister!
Thank you Impress Your Kids for this wonderful book. I know it will be a favorite for a long time.
