Recently we were given the chance to have some fun thanks to LeapFrog! My kids and I have been fans of LeapFrog for a very long time and we are thrilled to be able to try out some of the fantastic LeapFrog products in the comfort of our home with our friends. We made some special treats and started the activities!
The LeapFrog product the kids were most excited about is the LeapPad. My own tablet has been a big hit with them for over a year now and the kids were so excited to see one just for them appear for the fun time!
I am going to be completely honest here… this is a fantastic toy that even I have enjoyed playing with! But, the fun was all for the kids and fun is what they had! It has a built-in camera and video recorder that provided lots of fun for the kids and you can even add different apps to the LeapPad for more excitement. My kids have had a great time with their own personal pet and Johnny asks daily for us to get on the computer and update to get him more treats and shampoo for it. Johnny also loves the cartridge we recieved, LeapSchool Reading. The LeapPad has a touchscreen that all the kids think is super cool and an attached stylus to use as well. With 2GB of storage, there is plenty of room to add apps to the LeapPad (app cards can be bought separately). It retails for $99.
The next product we were able to try out for our fun night was the LeapFrog Tag Reader. We have had a Tag Reader for some time now but the kids were excited to see another come in the door (and it didn’t hurt to have a second one for the festivities). Johnny, while learning phonics at school, really enjoys the books we received that go through short vowel sounds with him. The Tag Reader retails for $39.99.
In addition, the Interactive World Map was so much fun for the kids. Johnny and Joley both love to pull it out still and play with it. It has some fun features like telling you how far apart places are, a demonstration of what a greeting is for several countries, and other learning games. This has been hours of enjoyment so far and I love that it teaches the kids in a way they don’t even realize they are learning!
Our party time was so much fun and my kids are still thrilled daily with the LeapFrog toys they have. I highly recommend (and I have several times) the LeapPad to anyone looking for a super fantastic toy for a young child this Christmas season. The LeapPad is recommended for ages 4-9 and the LeapFrog Tag Reader for ages 4-8.
Disclosure: We were given the product mentioned for the purpose of review and for the LeapFrog party. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
