I have been getting up at 6:15a to make sure Tayler has breakfast and makes her bus. Mike is supposed to be waking her up. I don’t want her using an alarm because I don’t want all the other kids to wake up while it goes off. This arrangement was working fine until Mike decided to sleep in on a few occasions. He is supposed to be getting her up at 5:45a so she can shower and get ready and hasn’t been at all. I told him that she needs time to get ready and to eat and if he can’t get his butt out of bed, I will have to start getting up earlier… which, by the way, is going to really make me mad! I hope he gets a clue and starts at least waking Tayler up and going back to bed if that is what he wants to do.
So, other than Tayler running late this morning because of her father, my morning was craptastic because of the rain. We are expected rain through Monday and it just makes for such a mess in the house. The dogs went outside and then tracked in mud all over the house. So, at 6:45a, I was vacuuming, sweeping and mopping. Fun fun fun! That, of course, led to a full bout of contractions. I have decided to wait them out at this point because they aren’t regular or long. They are sometimes frequent but have always stopped after a few hours so far. I am just not ready to spend time in the hospital.
I started making a to-do list of everything we need to do. I have developed a bad case of preggo/mommy brain and can’t remember anything. So far, I have 8 things on my list, half of which Mike can help with.
I am so glad today is Friday! I am hoping to get to garage sales tomorrow but gas prices went up due to Hurricane Ike so I am not sure I really want to spend the gas. I am hoping it isn’t raining in the morning and I can at least go to the ones close to the house. I went last weekend and got Johnny some winter shirts, another of the Sony baby monitors I love, some books, and some clothes for Tayler. The best buy of the weekend though was easily the backed barstools I found. I have needed them for our island in the kitchen because Johnny is finally tall enough to hit his head on the ledge that comes out and he was scaring me. The barstools are really nice and once I got used to them, look good too. I got two of them for only $10 each! That’s a steal.
I am hoping that Tayler isn’t getting sick. She has been complaining last night and this morning about a sore throat. Mike jokingly said she has mono from kissing her new boyfriend… nerd! I just don’t want to get sick or for Johnny to get sick. The kids are staying home this weekend but are going to their grandparent’s house tomorrow afternoon and spending the night and Sunday day with them. Hopefully them being gone will give me a chance to relax a bit. The only thing I really want to get done this weekend is to get Johnny a haircut. He is looking a bit shaggy. 🙂
Alrighty then, I guess that is it for now. I warned you that these were going to be boring. ha!
