We’ve recently been through a housing crisis. We’d been living in the same home for 4 years; a rental that we were very happy in. Yeah, the landlord didn’t really keep up with fixing things but we made due and lived a happy life in the home. That all came to a screeching halt when we received a letter from an attorney letting us know we had 10 days to vacate the home. Turns out the landlord stopped paying his mortgage and the house was foreclosed. We were panicked!
We went to court and received 30 days to get out of the home. Luckily we found a house close to the other so Johnny could stay in the same school and we would still be close to the girls’ school. We signed a lease and started moving our stuff to the new house. Moving is so stressful though. Getting a house packed up and moved was very hard on me. My arthritis and back didn’t take well to all the lifting and movement. I have been in pain for over a month; a pain worse than I am used to.
We are now in our new home. We have some unpacking to do but the main living areas are unpacked. We are happy in the new home. Our landlords seem very nice and that they will take care of the house. Our dogs have settled in and the kids all seem to be adjusting to the change well.
I am hoping to get back into my blog now that things have settled down. We’ve been dealing with housing issues since November so it has been hard for me to keep up with things here. I hope you stick around and check out the blog in the future. Featured on MovingBabies

I’m glad that you found something that is in the same area so that your kids can have continuity in their lives. It would have been nice if you had more notice for sure. Hope that your health improves soon!
Thanks so much Helena! I have been feeling better lately. I think the stress of the move was getting to me.
Wow, I bet that was stressful! I’d panic too if I was served papers like that. Glad that you’re moved in to the new place.
Yes, it was scary for sure. Thanks for commenting!
