I know we are no longer in December but I wanted to share a few more books with you that I finished up last month. I wouldn’t bother with telling you about these if they weren’t really, really good books! Please check them out.
I will start with a book that really surprised me. On The Island by Tracey Garvis-Graves is about a 16 year old and his 30 year old tutor who are flying to a vacation spot to meet up with his family when the plane goes down. You follow the story of these two for years where they are just friends and learning to survive. But, this story is so much more than a survival story. After TJ turns 18, things change and they no longer hide their feelings for each other. Their love brings them further and then a normally-disastrous tsunami hits their little island. They are rescued and a new life begins. You are then along for the ride of whether these two can survive with their age difference back in the “real world”. I loved this story so much and read it in one night. It was just so sweet and uplifting. This book had me balling like a baby and wanting to jump up and down for joy. It was great.
Next is Love Unscripted from the very funny Tina Reber. This book had me wondering what it would be like to be in a relationship with a movie star. You see, Ryan is a movie star filming in Providence, RI. When being chased by a mob of fans, he goes into a bar which happens to have the one person who could care less who he is. Taryn is just not impressed with the superstar actor and actually feels bad for him. They get to know each other and eventually fall in love. You are brought on an emotional rollercoaster like none I have ever been on before. I wanted to scream at Taryn and tell her to “wake up!” and I wanted to shake her more times than I can tell you. This is the first book that has ever brought tears to my eyes and succeeded in making me cry. There have been a few since then (maybe I am getting soft) but this one started me down the path of understanding with my fictional friends. Tina is a fabulous person and this book is the epitome of love in my mind. Ryan loves Taryn, Taryn loves Ryan… they just need to figure out that they are on the same page. This book is amazing and Love Unrehearsed is the sequel coming out this year. I can’t wait!
That sums up my December (well from the 15th on, in which I read 7 books. The last will be coming soon as the 3rd books comes out for me to read and one wasn’t so great so I won’t share.) I would love to know what you have been reading. Leave me a comment if there is something that has interested you as of late. Be on the lookout for what I have read this month because I am on book 9 for the year; my goal is 100.

I recently finished “The Help” and I have been reading the Cedar Cove series by Debbie Macomber (waiting on book 11 from the library) … not sure what I will read while I wait for that one to come though. I might look into these two you mentioned though 🙂
