M and K are growing up before our eyes. Our little kids are quickly becoming tweens and will soon be teenagers. With those years comes many bodily changes. One of those is body odor. It has been a few years now that my 9 and 10 year old kids started using deodorant. It came as a bit of a surprise to their dad and I, but the kids were ready for it. They were teasing each other that they “stunk” and needed to do something about it. Thankfully, they both were happy to start wearing deodorant and have been daily since then. I make sure to give K something that smells good and she no longer has to worry about smelling bad after her recess at school or during her playing. Dealing with changes in their bodies can be a hard time for many kids. I am lucky that mine took this first change with little stress or concern.
It isn’t always so easy to talk to kids about the smells that come with hormone changes and growing up. Thanks to Unilever, you can get some great tips and information about how to approach that subject with your kids. No longer do you and your children need to worry about the embarrassment that comes with growing up. If your kids are feeling self-conscious about body odor, this may be a site you want to visit. I encourage anyone with a tween son or daughter to visit DontFretTheSweat.com and get more information on how to deal with this sensitive subject.

Wow, I didn’t have to start wearing deodorant until my hormones kicked in to start menses. That’s very young
ages to need deodorant. Are you sure the odors are hormone related or just food related. Some foods we eat will cause odors to come out through our pores, especially garlic and onions.
