I love to change my look with little things. I either highlight my hair or wear different makeup. One of my favorite things to do though is to wear my eyeglasses. I generally don’t wear glasses when I am sitting in my house but I do whenever I am out and about. I have two pair that I got after Joley was born. One pair is brown and the other is purple.
I don’t need strong prescription glasses. I mainly just need it for distance vision. So, when deciding what to buy when I purchase my glasses, I have to think about what will be in style for a few years. My eyesight just doesn’t change that much. Actually, after I had Joley, my eyesight got better so I knew that my glasses would need to last me several years. I decided to play it safe for one pair and to branch out a little for the other. I figured that I would wear the “play it safe” ones the most.
I did not realize then that I would love my “trendsetter” glasses so much. They are just “me”. They are brown with a cute design on the side. They aren’t squared liked the ones I normally wear. In fact, they are nothing like I have worn before. They aren’t so different that I won’t like them over the next few years until I see the doctor again. I will probably like these for years to come actually because they are timeless (I think) while still being in style.
One thing I think I will try next time is to buy my glasses online. I know what I like and I know what the proper size I need is. Maybe I could even find some cheap enough that I could change up my look even more often than I do now. I mean, my prescription isn’t very strong so maybe it wouldn’t be costly to buy additional glasses to make my wardrobe match my glasses… instead of the other way around.
What about you… are you a trendsetter or do you play it safe when picking out accessories? I think of glasses as accessories because I don’t need them everyday. I am sure if you wore them daily you might have a different opinion of them… more of necessities. Either way, what is your style?
