Doesn’t that look like something you might find after cleaning up where dirt was spilled? Or maybe it would be after wiping the hands of a very dirty kiddo? I am sad to say that this is not the case. Those two germ-x wipes are from a restaurant.
We always wipe the tables where Joley is going to eat. I use a germ-x wipe every single time we go somewhere. After we wipe the table where she sits, we put a Table Topper down so she is safe to eat. To some, it may be overkill. After seeing those wipes today, I wholeheartedly disagree.
We always find some small amount of dirt or grime on the tables in restaurants. I don’t ever remember finding a table that wasn’t dirty to some degree but today it was disgusting. It didn’t look dirty but it really was gross. I couldn’t even get her Table Topper to stick to the table despite wiping it down twice because of the amount of grime on the table. I was in shock that it was that bad.
I did report it to the manager. That is a health hazard and they should change their practices to make it safer for everyone that eats at their restaurant. He assured me it would be better next time. I am hopeful but it certainly won’t stop me from wiping the tables down… in fact, this whole situation will be a reminder to myself to continue to do this practice.
So, why am I telling on the restaurant? I want you all to realize what is on the tables you or your little ones may be eating off of. Just across from our table was a small baby (probably 6 months) that was eating without a Table Topper. Don’t make that mistake!
