Monday night was quite an adventure for us. We headed out on a school night with the new baby to see a movie as a family. I wasn’t sure how it was all going to work out but it was worth a try to get to see the new movie out… The Muppets! I also wasn’t sure how my kids were going to take to the movie because, other than a few commercials on TV (that they talked about constantly) they have never seen anything from the Muppets. I remember things from my youth (does that make me sound old) and my husband has a huge liking for the Muppets. It was all a gamble to be honest. It could have ended disastrously… screaming baby, bored kids… crazy mommy. Thankfully, that was not the case!
There is really so much to love about this movie. Some of the humor was above the kids’ heads but that is fine because there was so much that they totally got and were literally laughing out loud about. If you knew my kids, you would know what a compliment that is to a movie… they are tough critics! The husband was giggling like a kid too and I admit that I found the movie downright hilarious at times. The music was fun and there was a constant flow so no one got bored.
The cameos were amazing and made the movie fun for the adults as much as the kids. There is just so much in the movie that I could talk about so I am going to share some of our favorite parts…
I loved when the chickens sang… hilarious. Johnny loved when Miss Piggy beat her head on her desk… pretty typical of a little boy. Joley liked the end of the movie when she was able to get up and dance. She has never done that before and it was so cute! Mike liked Animal not being able to play the drums… because that is just crazy!
I recommend this movie… like there is no way you shouldn’t see it! Go! Go now! It is so cute and so fun and will be worth every penny you spend to watch it. I can not wait for it to come out on video! I know… it just came to theaters today but really, we loved it that much! Let me know what you think if you go see it. I bet you will love it too!
Disclosure: We were given tickets to see this fantastic movie. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
