I am so excited! A few weeks ago, I received an email inviting me and Kenzie on a trip to NEW YORK CITY! We are going to be visiting with Crayola and seeing their new line of Pop Art Pixies products. These are products made for tween girls to be creative. Kenzie is really excited.
Neither Kenzie or I have ever been on a plane and we are both nervous. But, I knew I would regret not going on this trip simply because we were scared. So, we are going to do it. I am going to be brave for us both and hopefully Kenzie will learn that she has to conquer fears throughout this whole thing.
I still have to figure out packing and what to bring on the plane. I haven’t packed for anything like this in forever! In addition, I need to find out what to do about my blackberry that seems to have a very short battery life. I won’t have access to my computer all day so that won’t help. I will bring my PowerMat for the hotel room but other than that, I don’t know what to do. I priced batteries and they are $50! No way am I paying that when I don’t plan on keeping this phone past February.
Besides that, I am trying to figure out what clothes to bring… for us both. I was hoping to buy a new outfit for each of us but I don’t think that will happen now. We will make due with what we have. It will be laid back so it isn’t like we have to dress up or anything.
So, on November 19th, I will be leaving for New York. I will be home on Sunday the 21st. In between then, you will be able to find me on Twitter, Foursquare, and hopefully on here too. Be sure to follow me to keep up with what Kenzie and I will be doing! Anyone that is around when I am tweeting from the airports, I would love some support and encouragement!
Does anyone have any tips for me… for our first time flying… for packing for plane travel… for anything at all????

Hi Stephanie!
I hope you and Kenzie have an extraordinary time in New York City. It’s exciting that you were invited to go on this trip, and it’s really neat for me to remember through you what my first trip to NYC was like. I never would have guessed on that first trip that I’d one day call NYC home.
Have an awesome time!

That sounds like so much fun! I am sure you will have a great time. I was just on a trip last week. It was exhausting but it was wonderful!

You two are going to have a blast! Can’t wait to see pictures. As far as your phone battery, go swap it for a new one right before you go, they do that for free. Even my new phone I was told before I bought it that you will be charging at least 1 or 2 times a day and I usually do at least twice.

How exciting. Have a wonderful time. I always overpack so I am not one to give advice! I do like to check my bags because I think carryons are a pain in the butt. There are a lot of restrictions for carryon luggage so make sure to check that out if you plan on doing that. Bring some snacks and definately carry your camera with you.

I will be flying to NYC for this event to0 and I am scared! My daughter Hailey has been on a plane a few times, but not me. Flying make me nervous, but I am so excited to go to New York and will get over being nervous, LOL. I am in California so its going to be quite the trip!
Can’t wait to meet you!

You all are going to have a great time. Like Melissa said though, your schedule may be very tight. Usually on these trips there isn’t a lot of time for extra stuff.
You all will do great flying. Did you ask them for a non-stop flight?
I can’t wait to hear all about your trip!
Stefany says
I wasn’t expecting any extra stuff. In fact, I wouldn’t really want it. I like structure… and without a budget to do anything else, I am happy being busy. 🙂
I do have a non-stop flight! I mentioned that when they called and they had already picked one.

My girls and I will be going to New York too. This is our second event we have done with Kelly. Remember to enjoy every minute of it because it goes in a flash. You will also want to make sure to have room in your luggage for goodies. I ended up cramming it all in my suitcase that was full of things that I never even used.
I am not sure about this trip but the last event had a room to the side that we all kept our laptops in and there was WIFI. They try to be as helpful as possible since they know we are always on our phones and laptops. They treat us like rock stars… and then in a instant you are home and back to reality. LOL
Unfortunately there will probably not be much time for any sightseeing. The schedule is usually pretty tight.
Feel free to email me if you have any questions.

I didn’t figure there would time for sightseeing… I didn’t even expect it! LOL I look forward to meeting you!

How exciting!!! You guys will have so much fun! What a great experience for you guys. I’ve only been there one time, and I’ve been dying to go back, there is SO much to see! We had to go for work reasons, so we only spent one day exploring, it was amazing. Definitely check out Times Square if you can!
I don’t really have any tips about flying though – I’ve only been on a plane one time and I was 12. I was by myself and scared beyond belief lol!
Have fun, I can’t wait to read about how it goes!

I don’t think we will be able to do any sightseeing but I will “be” in New York so that is good enough for me right now. LOL
