As you know, Joley is 13 months old. I remember very little about her birth, but I do remember all the planning I did to make sure everyone that I wanted to know about her birth would be accessible to Mike when the time came. I remember programming so many numbers in my cell phone and then creating groups. I also remember how Mike couldn’t do it because of all the problems we had and I wish there had been an easier way. It wasn’t until several hours after her birth that I was able to share the information with my friends because of the process that was needed to get the message out. Not only that, but a text message really doesn’t hold very much information and I was just not up to chatting with anyone so whatever I sent them was all they were able to have.
I recently was contacted by Baby’s First Phone Call with the chance to review their service. As I have no babies coming anytime soon, I had to turn them down but I did tell them I would love to share their service with you all. I have several friends that are expecting and I would love to tell them more about this!
Baby’s First Phone Call is a service for expectant parents. With everything going on after the birth of a baby, it can be hard to get in contact with family and friends, even with all the technology available to us now. Baby’s First Phone Call is an automated phone tree that allows the parents to tell all their family and friends about the news of their arrival. No more having to make individual calls, short text messages, or relying on others to share your exciting news.
So, how does it work? This is so easy! Before the baby is born, the parents enter the names and phone numbers (US numbers only at this time) of anyone they want to share the news of the birth of their baby with. Then, after the baby is born, all that needs to be done is the parents (or whatever parent can!) make a single phone call and leave a voice message of all the information you want to share. You can leave the information on the baby, the hospital, room number, if you want visitors, or even to bring mom a treat for her hard work! (I wanted something sweet!)
Then, the system will call all the numbers on the parents’ list. If the person answers the phone, they will hear the message that was recorded! If there is no answer, the message is left on the voicemail or answering machine. The best part, besides the convenience, is that the person will have the opportunity to leave a return message for the happy parents that can be retrieved at their convenience!
Packages range from $20-$50 with a few options available as well. Included with each package is a luggage tag you can attach to your hospital bag with the toll-free number you can dial (from a US number) when the time comes to share your news! This will mean that you don’t even have to remember a phone number to call… everything is at your fingertips.
Baby’s First Phone Call is kindly offering 4 readers a wonderful package worth $50! With this package, you will be able to contact an unlimited number of friends and family! You can enter to give this as a gift to someone else as I will be sending you the information when the giveaway is complete and you can transfer it to someone else!

Oh wow. This service seems FANTASTIC! I have six friends expecting biologically and about a dozen who are adopting and I really think that they would all love this as a gift. If I win, one of these fine families will be getting this service from me and heck, I might even sign up for more packages to give away as gifts! Thanks!
