Last night, as I was laying in bed trying to fall asleep, the most amazing thing happened. I have had this happen two other times in my life but this one was a super special experience because this is the last time I will ever have this happen.
I felt the baby move for the first time!
To be fair to the sweet little one, I have had flutters and feelings for a few weeks now. But, I have been waiting until I received real jabs to say that this for sure was the baby moving. I can say with confidence… this for sure was the baby moving! I felt about 6 little jabs right above my belly button. One… two… pause. Three… four… pause. I was giddy with excitement and figured this little acrobatic act was over. Then came five…six.
One word can describe this… amazing. Truly, without a doubt, one of the most amazing things to happen during a pregnancy. For me, those little jabs mean so much more than the little one is moving. It means that I don’t need to be at a doctor’s office to know he/she is okay in there. It means that the little one is growing and getting stronger. It means that this pregnancy is not just me getting bigger every day (it feels that way though). It means we are going to be welcoming another little baby into the Thode house.
It means that God truly has blessed me once again.
