If you love cupcakes and cream filling, then this review is for you. Betty Crocker has come up with a new concept that has hit the nail on the head for me and my family. No longer do you have to crave that yummy filling. No longer do you have to think about how boring your cupcakes are. Fun da-Middles are the first boxed-cupcake mix of its kind and I have to say they are genius.
I was at first a bit worried about the difficulty level of making the Fun da-Middles but was pleasantly surprised. All you need to do is make the cupcake batter as you normally would. Pour 1/3 of the batter into each cupcake liner.
Then, you need to squeeze the filling bag a few times and then put a small amount in the middle of each cupcake.
Finally, you cover the filling completely with more cupcake batter.
Bake according to the directions on the box. Let the cupcakes cool completely. My kids were very eager to have a cupcake and I think the filling was still too warm. The cupcakes were much better after they had cooled more. I didn’t even bother with frosting. These cupcakes were good enough without it!
The cupcake above obviously had the filling closer to the bottom than the middle… my fault!
I do really like the Betty Crocker Fun da-Middles and we will buy them again. There are three different flavor varieties to choose from: Vanilla Cake with Creamy Chocolate Filling, Chocolate Cake with Creamy Vanilla Filling, and Vanilla Cake with Creamy Vanilla Filling. If you have a party to go to or just want to make a fun surprise for the kids, these are perfect. Each bite brings a special little something that you aren’t expecting!
