I am so proud and happy right now. I wasn’t sure I would be able to breastfeed but things are going amazingly well and I couldn’t be happier.
Joley had a high bili test (13.8) on Friday evening in the hospital. They put her in the bili bed for Saturday and ran another test that morning. She had just started feeding good the night before and we were just getting started. She came back with a level of 13.1 and we were sent home without a bili bed or anything.
She had her first appt with the pedi today. She is still noticeably yellow so the doc ran another bili level. She said that since my milk has come in, it should definitely help since it breaks down in the gut. Joley also hasn’t had a bowel movement since Saturday so that would make things better but we would see how the results came out. Worse case, she would need to be on the bili bed at home again.
We got a call and her bili level is down to 10.1!!!!! YAY! So, my milk is doing good for my baby! I am so excited. I told the nurse at the hospital that I was not interested in supplementing with formula because I felt I could get those levels to come down if we could just “get” breastfeeding down. Well, I was right! Oh, and she has had 2 small bowel movements today. Things are working!!!!
Joley goes back next Monday for her 2 week check and a weight check. She is down to 8lbs6oz but we aren’t concerned. We feel this will pick up as well. She is eating 8-9 times during the day and is doing well. She slept for 4 hours straight last night and I thought I was in heaven. 🙂
I go to the doc tomorrow to get my staples out. Other than that, we are just chillin’ out and enjoying the babymoon.

Hi! I realize this is kind of off-topic however I had to ask. Does managing a well-established website such as yours require a lot of work? I am brand new to blogging however I do write in my diary every day. I’d like to start a blog so I can easily share my experience and feelings online. Please let me know if you have any ideas or tips for brand new aspiring bloggers. Thankyou!
