Disclosure: We received a promotional item in exchange for this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

We don’t do much for New Year’s Eve because we prefer to stay in with the kids than go out without them. Each year we make some yummy food and just sit around and have fun together. I know Johnny has some thoughts on playing some games with me tonight and I can’t wait to spend the evening with my babies.

This year I headed to Aldi for some New Year’s Eve food. While walking through the store, Johnny and Joley both piped up about some things they wanted to eat. Here are a few of the items we will be eating tonight that all came from Aldi!

~~~~~
dates and bacon
Bacon Wrapped Dates
Ingredients:
Bacon, cut in half or thirds (depending on length)
Whole, pitted dates
Method of Preparation:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Wrap bacon slices around date and secure with toothpick.
Place on foil-wrapped baking sheet.
Cook for 15-20 minutes (until bacon is crispy)
~~~~~

cheese dip

Spicy Cheese Dip

Ingredients:

Cheese Melt

Diced tomatoes with green chiles

Method of Preparation:

Place full cheese loaf and one to two cans of tomatoes with chiles in crock pot.

Place on low for 4-6 hours.

Stir occasionally to prevent burn.

Once heated through, dip with tortilla chips! I love the Dippers from Aldi.

~~~~~
aldi meatballs
Sweet n Sour Meatballs
Ingredients:
1 bag of precooked, frozen meatballs
1 can unsweetened pineapple chunks
1 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2/3 cup white vinegar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
Method of preparation:
Drain pineapples. Set juice aside.
Place meatballs in crock pot.
Cover with pineapple chunks.
In a separate bowl, mix pineapple juice, brown sugar, cornstarch, vinegar and soy sauce.
Pour sauce over meatballs and pineapple chunks.
Cook on low for 4 hours (or until heated thoroughly).
~~~~~

I am sure we will have a great New Year’s just hanging out together. What are your plans?

    I LOVE all of the yummy treats you made from goods purchased at ALDI! I have to say as a regular ALDI shopper, many of my New Year’s goodies had ALDI products in them as well. I made a mexican layer dip, and mu husband made wings and concocted many delicious sauces for dipping. Gotta Love ALDI!

    This sounds like my kind of New Years! We stayed in with our kids as well this year and had a big junk food party (not really junk but healthy junk ;)) Those sweet and sour meatballs look yummy! I’m sure there wasn’t any left afterwards

    I have not shopped at Aldi for quite a while. I do remember they had good prices. I am going to have to find one of their stores near me.

    I have an Aldi’s near me, but I never go because they make us leave a 25 cent deposit for the shopping carts and I never have change with me LOL.

    I did laundry on NYE lol but my snack did come from Aldi 😉

    My kids love when we make cheeseburger soup using the Italian style meatballs from Aldi–they would eat that every day if they could :p
