I made a decision. I am going to coupon again. I quit for awhile because it just got to be too much with school, kids, and everything else life is throwing my way. I miss it though and my (small) stockpile is dwindling away. I need to get back on the coupon game.
My biggest time problem is the actual cutting of the coupons. I think I am going to invest in a paper cutter… like the ones I remember from when I was a kid. It has an arm that comes down and cuts. I think it will be faster and much easier on my hands. I have carpel tunnel in my wrists and it kills me to clip coupons so I ended up letting them stack up and then forgetting about it.
I tried to do the clipless method but it just didn’t work for me. I need to have all my coupons in front of me when I go to the store. That said, I need to find the time to do all the clipping. If you coupon and clip, how often do you sit down to clip your coupons? How long does it take you usually?

I’m a clip what I need kind of girl… I use coupon matching sites to tell me what to clip each week and then take my list with the coupons to the store… keeps me from overbuying junk too.. I think the pp’s suggestions of getting the kids involved is great – my 11 yr old DD is all about clipping… and sorting… and has been for a while
My store method is to make my list on an envelope and to tuck my coupons inside… I then take a second envelope with me to move the coupons I’m going to use into it…

I try to work on it in little moments here and there, like if the children are all on free time and I don’t have to start dinner yet for example, until I get caught up. Once that happens, I try to have each week’s new inserts clipped and organized by Monday at the latest.
I was also going to suggest getting the kids to help. Several times I’ve had the big girls cutting coupons while I supervise the little ones cutting regular paper with safety scissors (so they could get in on the fun, too.) 🙂

I use to do couponing (stop fighting it spellcheck. It’s a word). I would end up with so much free stuff that I started donating it.
Can your kids help? Especially, cutting out the coupons for their fav products.
Are you buying products you use or are you finding ways to use products because you have a coupon. If it’s the latter, I would stop doing that. That would save time.
