Every year I set a goal for books to get through on Goodreads. I didn’t meet my goal last year; I was short by about 4 books, simply because I raised my goal by 5 books. That was tough to take. I was really worried that I would be in the same boat again this year. After my hysterectomy in March and the horrific recovery in April and part of May, I was way behind schedule.
I glanced at my tally in October and was even more worried. I was behind my goal by about 30 books. EEK! I decided to get busy and start reading. One thing I did was join Kindle Unlimited. I have heard mixed reviews on it but I have found it to be great. I have found many great books and authors through the program.
I am very happy to say that I have met my goal, and ahead of schedule at that! I wanted to share a few of my favorite books that I have read over the past year, in no particular order.
One Pink Line by Dina Silver
Dear Emily by Trudy Stiles
Dear Tabitha by Trudy Stiles
Reclaim My Heart by Donna Fasano
Bright Side by Kim Holden
Unlit Star by Lindy Zart
Mud Vein by Tarryn Fisher
Shark Bait by Jenn Cooksey
The Other Fish in the Sea by Jenn Cooksey
Shark Out of Water by Jenn Cooksey
Bully by Penelope Douglas
Sempre by J.M. Darhower
Making Faces by Amy Harmon
Unwanted Stars by Melissa Brown
It is now time to make a new goal. I think I will go for one over the last year’s goal, 101 books for 2015.
What about you? Do you read? What is the latest book you have read and loved?

101 books in a year! You are on a roll. I only go through one every two to 3 weeks. Unless you count craft books. Then I tear through those babies like you wouldn’t believe lol.
I read nothing of the nonfiction genre. I know I should but it just doesn’t ever happen!
I love to read but have not done as much of it as I would like. I did meat my Good Reads goal this year which was rather modest. I have a tie between ‘A Table by the Window’ and ‘Lizzy & Jane.’
I stopped by to thank you for reaching out to me on my writing blog (selfemployedwriter.com) and the depression posts. It mean a lot to know that I have someone out there who has extended a hand in friendship, even if through emails, when I need someone. I went to the Dr. yesterday, so I feel good thinking I am going to be going in the right direction now.
Chrystal, I meant every single word I said to you. I am in a position to completely understand what you are going through and am always willing to help someone else going through a tough time. I am so very happy that you saw your doc. I recently did the same after many, many years of suffering. Hopefully 2015 will be full of happiness for us both.
I didn’t set a goal for Goodreads in 2014–maybe I will in 2015, however since they told me I read 185 books this year—–I think I will stick to that number (possibly less)and I had no idea I was reading that many!! My year end book reading post will be up on 12/31–and no I did not even attempt to say which book or even author I liked the best. There were so many good ones!
That is great Michele! I hear you on the list too. I only picked a few of those that I listed as 5 stars! haha!
That’s a great amount of books (and authors I’m not familiar with.) I just received Jane Green’s book today. I’m excited to read it. I finished two blog books over the weekend and I love anything by Kristan Higgins, who I discovered this year. I’ve read all of her books (all 13!) Normally I don’t read quite so much!
I have not read Kristan Higgins. I will definitely look into her books. I love hearing about new authors!
I love to read I just don’t have much time these days!!!
I understand that. 🙂
You read a lot – wow. I don’t like to read, so I don’t, but my husband LOVES to read and goes through 3 or 4 books a month!
I do love to read. It is something that has grown as I have gotten older. I don’t read anything really deep though! lol
