I don’t claim to be a wine connoisseur. In fact I will openly state that I know very little about wine. What I do know is what I like and one of my favorite wines is a wine-in-a-box. This post is not about that wine though. I have had a love-hate relationship with my wine for some time because the box is ugly and it is difficult to get all the wine out of it. That is until we were sent the Box Wine Dispenser from Uncommon Goods. It was sent to use for review and below you will find my thoughts and opinions on it.
Box wines are economical and environmentally friendly. They provide a simple way to save your wine for another time. What they don’t offer is a pretty package. I loved the idea of a stainless steel product that I can either use on my counter or in my fridge to keep my boxed wine. What I loved more though was that I no longer had to tilt the box and try to get the last few glasses out. The dispenser applies upward internal pressure to serve the wine above your glass, rather than from the counter edge as with gravity-fed wine in the box.
It is super simple to use. Simply take your wine out of the box it came in. You will need a 3L bag for this to work and I had to actually remove a glass to get mine to work. Push the inner spring-loaded surface down until it stays put. Then place your bag in the Box Wine Dispenser with the spout at the top. It took me a few times to get this right. Just be careful to not break the bag and retry if you mess it up the first time.
Close the lid and you are ready to drink your favorite wine. The Box Wine Dispenser keeps your wine fresh for up to six weeks by enhancing the function of the wine bag’s design. Pretty great, right? I have really enjoyed using this and find it so much easier to use than the box my wine came with. But, as I mentioned, it is also stylish and something I wouldn’t be embarrassed to have on my countertop. I actually did put the Box Wine Dispenser in my fridge because I really prefer a cold wine. Either way works fine though.
My best friend is the one that got me hooked on the box wine we like. This would make the perfect gift for her this holiday season. It would look and work wonderfully in her stainless kitchen.
You can purchase the Box Wine Dispenser for $100. I encourage you to check out the Uncommon Goods website while you are gift shopping this year and anytime you want some truly unique gifts for your loved one. I spent a good amount of time on the site when deciding what exactly I wanted to review. There is so much to see and each item is better than the last. You will love this site!
So tell me…
Do you drink wine? Boxed or bottle? Would you be more likely to buy boxed if you had a stylish dispenser like this to keep on your counter?

ME, me! Please! I’m all about this and I have no qualms with boxed wine!
I am a sipper of wine so this would be perfect for me. I love how the wine stays fresh for up to six weeks .
I do drink wine but I stick to the $12ish and under labels. I don’t know enough about it to pick the more expensive bottles. We have some great local wineries and their stuff is about $15 but its often on sale for $11. Once in a while they do a 2 for $18. I’ve never tried box wine. It reminds me of when I was in high school and the kids would have people get the boxed wine because it was so cheap. I always associated it with the Boons Farm stuff. I like this dispenser though. Super classy.
I have honestly never bought boxed wine because of how ugly it looks. Trivial, I know. I would be more inclined to give it a try with this handy device though!
Not trivial at all! I am of the same feelings. This definitely makes the boxed wines more appealing to the eye!
This is so great. My husband drinks wine, and my stepmom drinks wine. They would both love this.
That’s great! And it looks nice, too! (I love when smaller “appliances” like this one can blend in with the larger appliances!)
That is so true. This is the only stainless piece we have but it does look good with the black throughout our kitchen.
That is awesome. My MIL always drinks from a box-o-wine, so I am totally getting her one of those.
You said “wine dispenser”….say no more. I need this in my life and I need it right now! 🙂
haha! A woman after my own heart. 😉
Oh how I need one of these. Nice.
I have purchased boxed wine in the past but like you it frustrated me no end when it started reaching the bottom of that box. At the time I had a boyfriend who drank a lot of wine. He is no longer in the picture and now I buy a bottle which can last a very long time! I wish I had known about this when I was buying all that boxed wine! I have been to Uncommon Goods-I love their selection!
