A little more information on Vector Marketing… scam or not?

A few weeks ago, I wrote a blog post about some stay at home options for work.  While I had some great discussion here on the blog, I was hit by a number of scammers on Twitter simply by tweeting about looking for work.  It was insane the amount of spam tweets I received.  None were at all involved with the post I wrote but it got me thinking.  Why are some companies seen as a scam and others not?  I decided to do some more research.

I decided to focus on the Vector Marketing scam question.  This company has really received some bad press lately and I think it is about time we figured out why and moved on.  Vector Marketing has, unfortunately, fallen victim to our society I believe.  We live in a society of doubt and skepticism.  We also live in a very technology-focused culture.  If you need or want an answer, good or bad, you can find it on the internet.  Any question at all.  Vector Marketing is a legit business that just functions differently than other companies.  Do I think it is for everyone?  Absolutely not.  But, to call it a scam because it is different is truly not fair.

Vector Marketing asks for no more than many other companies including those I mentioned in my first post.  What they do require is for you to be a self-motivated person willing to take responsibility for your own income.  They require you to be an adult willing to work for your income and not get paid by clocking in.  Again, not for everyone but certainly not enough to call it a scam.

What do you think?  Do some companies get a bad reputation simply because of how they are run?  Is it possibly our culture than hands out these “scam” labels for no legitimate reason?

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.  I have never worked for the company mentioned myself and am using knowledge gained from various legitimate sources for this post.
