Teeth gross me out. In fact, Johnny has a loose tooth that has been loose for a few weeks now that we are just pretending is not going to come out… ever. He brushes it, eats around it, and generally thinks it will magically disappear at some point. Could I help him along with this huge milestone? Maybe, but like I said, I hate teeth. And feet but that is another matter all together.
I teach the kids that they need to brush twice a day and how long to do so. I do my mommy duty with teeth brushing. In fact, I am even a good example with it (yay me!). It is good thing they listen to me too because if their teeth were icky, we may have a little bitty problem of mommy being sick while helping them brush. Thankfully, they are doing good and we are going to start the dental visits soon.
I was so happy to be invited to The Delta Dental Health Theatre (DDHT) this past week for some fun socializing and reinforcements of what I have been telling my kids (because we all know they listen to others more than us sometimes). I had been to the Delta Dental Health Theatre before as a KID! It opened its doors in 1977 and has been newly renovated and I must say, it is awesome! The kids were enthralled with the walls, the books, the play food, and the dress-up station. But the fun only became more fun with the entrance of Youcan Toucan!
What I love about the programs at DDHT, is that they are fun for kids of all ages. Johnny was able to participate in the program in which Alice, the dental educator and Youcan Toucan talked about healthy eating, exercise and, of course, teeth! The kids each walked out with a healthy smiles kit that they are still talking about and that is given to all attendees of the DDHT programs.
There isn’t much I remember being the same about DDHT from when I was a child, but there is one.
Check out those giant teeth (or what my nightmares are made of, but whatever). The kids thought that the teeth lighting up were pretty cool and I have to admit that it is interesting to see 16 3-foot tall teeth!
Okay, so now for more info on how you can get involved… besides attending a show. On August 6th, DDHT is holding a FREE Family Fun Day. Between the hours of 10a-4p, come to the DDHT for a day filled with fun… meeting Tooth Wizard and his friends Buzz Lightyear, Dora the Explorer, Spongebob Squarepants, and Elmo. Don’t forget to bring your camera so you can get some pictures of your little ones with their favorite character! There will be a stage filled with some fun stuff too like a juggler, a talent contest, martial arts techniques, dancers and more. You and your family can enjoy some free fun and games, entertainment, face painting, a balloon artist and more. With as great as the DDHT treated us last week, I am sure it is going to be great time. Oh, and the first 500 kids (under 12) will receive a special gift! whoo hoo!
You can look for me and my crazy clan because we will be there too. I am the huge pregnant woman with a 2 and 5 year old running circles around me. If you see me, stop me and say hi! I would love to chat with you.
To save you the trouble, here is the address of DDHT:
Delta Dental Health Theatre, 727 N. First St, Suite 103, St Louis MO 63102 (that is on Laclede’s Landing)

Disclosure: A huge thank you to DDHT for inviting me and my kiddos to the event this week with the St Louis Social Moms. It was a blast! All thoughts and opinions are my own.
