Disclosure: I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Fellowes. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
One of the things I hate most about our house is how small it is. Everything that you leave out is available for anyone who comes in the door to see. If you have a stack of papers sitting on the counter, you can see it from the front door. It is a horrible pet peeve or mine to have stacks of mail all over the house. But, my husband is a stacker. He will make stacks of paper all over and it drives me absolutely batty.
All of this clutter stopped when we received the Fellowes 63Cb Shredder. While it hasn’t eliminated the problem of papers piling up, it has made for a much easier clean-up. If I get the mail, I will bring it directly to the shredder but if my husband gets it, he will still set it down somewhere. I have made one change in that there is one place to put the mail but even that doesn’t always work for him. If I don’t make an effort to grab the stacks daily, I will find stacks of paper all over the kitchen and living room. It seems to be working better though now that I know how to handle it.
The Fellowes shredder is a workhorse. It will shred things that are even in their envelope. I have no need for a credit card application so those go straight to the shredder. I don’t have to open the envelope and do each one individually; the Fellowes 63Cb makes cross-cut pieces (302 pieces I might add!)with ease. In addition, I love the safety features that this shredder has. If your hand comes in contact with the paper opening, the Safe Sense Technology notices and will not let anything go through. This is a big relief as a mom who has an increasingly busy toddler. It also features the Fellowes Jam Blocker, making sure jams are stopped before they start and an Energy Savings System. Amazingly, this will run for 8 minutes without needing a break!
One other thing I think is important to cutting down on clutter in the house is to eliminate the excess papers that we need or want to keep. Check stubs, for instance, are something we like to keep for a year. Well, they can add up quickly. I can now scan them into a portable hard drive and then place them through the shredder. This little step takes a bit of time (the only downside) but the reward is great.
I am so much happier to have a decluttered house. I love to use my Fellowes shredder to keep my house and family organized. Not only being organized, but my house looks and feels cleaner now. I love this! Now, if only I could teach my husband how to clean up after himself and use the shredder instead of stacking papers!
Here is a quick video Jemma and I made you to summarize all I have said. I’m going to confess something to you about this video… I had saved all the mail I would normally shred for an entire week. But, the stack started driving me crazy and I shredded it before the video. I just couldn’t handle the clutter! Anyway, please check it out!
The 63Cb is available at Amazon, Office Depot, and OfficeMax for a suggested retail price of $149.99. But, if you aren’t sure which shredder to buy, check out the infographic below!
